Celebrating sustainability at Regis Maroochydore!

Our esteemed Clinical Care Manager, Monika initiated the Coral Reef project in August 2022 with the aim of raising awareness about plastics in our oceans and the environmental impact on coral reefs and their ecosystems worldwide.

With the collective efforts of our residents and employees, the project has grown to encompass various upcycled materials, including wool, yarn, plastic bottles, lids, plastic bags, packaging, and coffee pods. This unique display serves as a powerful reminder of the detrimental effects of plastic waste on our oceans and the need to reduce our carbon footprint.

In line with our commitment to sustainability, we have placed informational displays on clean-up and waste management, encouraging residents, employees, and visitors to take a proactive role in reducing their impact on the environment. Additionally, we have partnered with the esteemed company, Turtle Tribe, to provide sustainable bamboo toothbrushes to all Regis homes.

Incorporating an interactive element, Monika has crafted various types of corals found in the Great Barrier Reef, alongside informative signage detailing their unique features. We invite you to take part in the coral matching challenge and appreciate the beauty of this awe-inspiring display.

Visitors to Regis Maroochydore are welcome to stop by our reception area and witness this remarkable feat of environmental consciousness, celebrating sustainability and promoting sustainable living practices.
