Regis Lutwyche recently hosted a heart-warming intergenerational program that brought together residents with children from the local community to share their love of music. The event was a huge success, and it was incredible to see the connection and bond that was formed between the different generations.

The highlight of the event was when the children and the residents played instruments together. It was truly wonderful to see the joy on everyone’s faces as they worked in harmony to create music. This kind of interaction is invaluable for both the elderly and the young as it promotes understanding and compassion between different age groups. Intergenerational programs such as this one provides an opportunity for younger people to interact with the elderly and to learn from them.

Speaking about the event, Regis Lutwyche resident Margarete said, “I used to be a Sunday school teacher and love interacting with the young generation as it reminds me of when I was a teacher.”

For residents, these programs offer an opportunity to feel valued and respected. They can share their experiences and knowledge with the younger generation, which can be empowering and fulfilling. Additionally, intergenerational programs have been shown to improve the well-being and quality of life for elderly individuals.

We look forward to seeing what other incredible experiences can be created through intergenerational programs in the future at Regis.
