Residents at Regis Lutwyche were captivated by the majestic Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane during their recent visit.

Resident John Jamieson experienced first-hand the magnificence of playing in the stadium during his lengthy soccer career. Having grown up in Glasgow, Scotland, John played soccer for over 10 years for a number of local teams.

“Walking on the pitch gives me a feeling of adrenaline that any player feels when the stadium is full. I’ll definitely come back to fully experience the stadium during a game.”

“Today was one of the best moments of my life and being here today has brought up many wonderful memories,” said John.

Regis Lutwyche General Manager, Qi Zhang, said that the aged care home was dedicated to supporting residents to continue to live interesting, rich and fulfilled lives where they continued to gain new experiences and learn new things.

“Regis Lutwyche supports and encourages these types of community outings as we are focused on enriching the lives of those who choose to live with us,” she said.

“These outings are a social outlet for our residents and help to cement new friendships, all of which is connected to the emotional wellbeing of seniors, something that we are also very focused on.”
