Why did the chicken cross the road? To eat the bugs in the Regis Bunbury gardens! Regis Bunbury receives regular visits from a Day Care centre next door where free-range chickens make their way over to scratch through our many gardens in search of tasty treats.

Josephine Robinson regularly spies our visiting hens scratching through her gardens. She was delighted when our team were able to bring one in for a pat, and Josephine immediately identified it as a Rhode Island Red. This was a fantastic way for Josephine to reminisce about her youth when her family would sell eggs at the local markets from their own flock of Rhode Island Reds.

Our residents and employees love playing spot the chicken during the day and get a kick out of seeing which gardens they pop up in. We certainly appreciate the hard work these ladies do in keeping our gardens free of bugs!
