Residents and employees from Regis Cranbourne, Regis Brighton, Regis Sandringham, and Regis Dandenong North had a day to remember as they embarked on a picturesque cruise down the Yarra River in Melbourne. The day was filled with delicious catering from each residence and breathtaking views of the city’s most iconic landmarks. With a total of 40 people on board, everyone soaked in the sights, sounds, and sun on this truly memorable day.

The two-hour river boat ride showcased the very best of Melbourne, with the CBD’s skyscrapers, Southgate Arts & Leisure Precinct, Crown, Bolte Bridge, Polly Woodside, Westgate Bridge, and the River Gardens all on display. It was an excellent opportunity for residents and employees to bond and share their love for the city they all call home.

The day also marked a special occasion as one of the residents, Maria Bergin, celebrated her 84th birthday on board. Everyone joined in singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her, and even the captain of the boat joined in on the celebration. Maria has been a resident of Regis Cranbourne since early 2020 and has made many friends with all her fellow residents. The joy on board was truly special, and it was an excellent reminder to cherish the little moments in life.

As Regional General Manager Alan Boucherau said, “It was such a pleasure to be a part of our Victorian Homes uniting to share these special memories together, exploring the city many have called ‘home’ for a number of years. It is a wonderful reminder to make the most of every day and enjoy the little things.” The Executive General Manager of Southern Operations, James Theofanis, was also present, showcasing the significance of bringing multiple homes together.

This activity was unique to the regular activities on the lifestyle calendar. A day out on a boat cruise, seeing some of Melbourne’s best sites, and sharing in these experiences with new friends is something to be remembered. It was an excellent opportunity for residents and employees to bond and share their love for Melbourne, and it was a reminder of the importance of community and connection.
