Last week, the Regis community recognised and celebrated the remarkable efforts of our volunteers on National Volunteer Week. To pay tribute, many of our Homes and sites organised special celebrations and gatherings.

At Regis Lutwyche, the team prepared an afternoon tea to thank volunteers for their time and dedication. Barbara, a volunteer at Regis Lutwyche since 2019, walks to the Home every Monday to play the piano, which she donated to the Home, for residents in the memory support unit. Similarly, volunteer Mary brings support for residents of Italian heritage as she is fluent in Italian, bringing comfort and connection.

The team at Regis Holland Park also organised an afternoon tea with volunteers and residents, which included a special live guitar performance. Jeanette, one of Regis Holland Park’s longest-serving volunteers said, “It feels good to be part of the Regis community. I feel happy whenever I’m here.”

Speaking of the impact that volunteers have, Regis Holland Park resident, John said, “Volunteers do wonderful work and it’s good to see that we take the time to appreciate them.”

At Regis Greenbank, a barbecue was held in celebration of their wonderful volunteers. Resident, Wendy made a beautiful speech and presented special gifts to the volunteers in attendance.

Whether they’re lending a hand with group activities alongside our Lifestyle team or spending quiet moments in one-on-one visits, volunteers bring connection, comfort and happiness into the Regis community every day.
