Regis Aged Care, a subsidiary of Regis Healthcare (“Regis”) is pleased to announce it has acquired the Darwin Community Service, from ECH Inc.

Regis will assume ownership of this service, subject to the approval of the Department of Social Services, on 1 May 2015.
ECH Chief Executive Rob Hankins said a key consideration in ECH’s agreement with Regis Aged Care was to ensure conditions for care recipients and staff would remain comparable under new ownership.

“The well-being of our care recipients and the quality of care they receive are paramount. Our care recipients have entrusted their care to us and we take this responsibility very seriously,” Mr Hankins said. “We also recognise and value the tremendous work of our staff and the essential role they play in maintaining the well-being of our care recipients. All existing staff will be offered equivalent positions and retain equivalent conditions with Regis Aged Care, meaning care recipients will continue to be cared for by the people they know and trust. Importantly, there will be no change to the financial contribution for existing care recipients.”

Regis has operated in Australia for over 20 years and has 46 facilities and services throughout the country.

“We are very excited to be adding the Darwin Community Service to our family of services across Australia and to be extending the Regis family,” Regis CEO Ross Johnston said. “We are proud of our achievements and the addition of the Darwin Community Service will complement and expand our high standards of care.”

Darwin Community Service will be called ‘RegisCare Darwin’ from 1st May 2015 and will extend Regis’ services in Darwin, after Regis purchased Regis Tiwi Gardens residential aged care service in November 2014.
