Government Directions updated for Aged Care Homes in South Australia

Dear Families,

You will be aware that the South Australian Government has today announced a series of measures in response to the increased community transmission of COVID-19. As a short term measure, while we wait for further information to be published by the South Australian government, modified visitation will be introduced to our homes. Unfortunately, this will mean that other than for essential visits and end of life visits, you will be unable to visit our Homes.

Our priority remains keeping our residents and community safe. In order to do this, we will continue to follow the Government’s guidelines and advice. We are hopeful that the measures announced today will be effective in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in the community and that these visitation restrictions will only be necessary for a short period.

We continue to reinforce with all staff that if they are even slightly unwell they must not work, immediately seek testing and stay at home until the result is available.

Single-site working arrangements are in place to help protect our residents and staff. Personal care workers are not permitted to work at more than one residential aged care home and they must not have worked at another home within the last 14 days. Our staff will also wear a face mask at all times whilst working in our homes.

We will continue to review the advice from the South Australian Government and Federal Government daily and will let you know if any changes are required. Please call your Home’s General Manager or our dedicated advice team on 1300 998 100 if you have any concerns or needs.

Please stay safe and well.

Best wishes,

Linda Mellors
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
