Last week, Regis Aspley residents celebrated with colour and community as they marked International Yarn Bombing Day with a courtyard transformation.
With support from team members and generous donations from the local community, residents prepared handmade yarn decorations, knitting, crocheting and crafting everything from hats and cats to wraps and pom-poms. The result was a vibrant display that brought warmth and joy to the shared outdoor space.
Benches, trees, and light posts were all decorated with colourful yarn, sparking smiles and conversation among everyone who passed through.
Resident Colleen shared, “The courtyard looks absolutely beautiful. So bright and cheerful. It feels like spring arrived overnight.” Resident Elaine added, “It was wonderful to be part of something so colourful and fun.”
Days like these are more than just creative fun, they promote connection, purpose and pride. Participating in a shared project gives residents a sense of achievement and belonging, while the colourful results brighten not only the environment but also spirits.
Regis Aspley thanks everyone who contributed their time, talent and creativity to this joyful project.
