At Regis, mealtimes are an important part of everyday life. We’re always looking for ways to evolve and improve the food our residents enjoy. It was with this commitment in mind that Regis National Manager of Hotel Services, Alastair England travelled to New Zealand to spend two days immersed in innovation with our long-time partner, The Pure Food Co.  

The visit offered a rare behind‑the‑scenes look at how world‑leading texture modified meals are developed, sourced and produced. 

Alastair spent his time on the production floor, workshopping ideas with development teams. For him, the trip was more than a tour.  

As he put it, “It was an amazing opportunity to work side by side with The Pure Food Co team to focus on the future readiness of texture modified food for our residents who have swallowing difficulties.” 

Alastair brought insights and feedback from Regis homes across the country, ensuring innovation remains grounded in real resident and team experiences. 

“We explored innovations and what it means to be industry leaders in developing unique meals that are truly world firsts in the texture modified space,” he said.
