Chinese New Year at Regis Hurstville

Residents at Hurstville had a day filled with Lunar New Year fortune telling, sharing Hongbao, (a bright red envelope with a gold coin inside), and also shared fortune king hats and good luck/prosperity necklaces for the New Year. We entertained the residents with a Laughing Tai Chi session and a Chinese feast supplied in part from a local Chinese restaurant, fried rice, veggies, cha soui, mango pancakes, fried New Year cakes and more.

Reflecting the influences of the local Chinese community, Regis Hurstville’s lifestyle program and menu selection have been tailored to meet the interests and tastes of our Chinese residents with the inclusion of traditional activities and cuisine.
