Sharon has always been someone who does things her own way. Before moving into Regis Marleston in Adelaide, she lived independently for most of her life, choosing a path that gave her freedom and control over how she lived. “I’m used to being on my own. I could do what I wanted when I wanted,” she said.

That sense of independence remains central to who she is today. At Regis Marleston, Sharon continues to value her own space, choosing when to join in or to step back when it comes to events and gatherings within the home.

Sharon spent years following bands, travelling across Adelaide to see live performances and building much of her social life around it. That connection became so personal she formed a friendship with the lead singer of her favourite band and his wife, even naming her dog after the band. “Music is my whole life,” she said.

That connection to music continues at the home, where she enjoys performances, keeps up with visiting entertainers and has her favourites.

Just as important are the people around her. “The employees are amazing,” she said. “They’re helpful, kind and fun.” Over time, those relationships have become part of her daily life at the home. “They feel like they’re family,” she said.

For Sharon, moving into Regis Marleston has not changed who she is. It has given her a different environment, with support around her, while allowing her to remain independent and still enjoy what matters most to her.
