International Women’s Day (IWD) serves as a global platform to recognise and honour the invaluable contributions of women across various spheres of life.

In celebration of this occasion, we shine a spotlight on Admissions Coordinator Michelle Stewart, who embodies resilience, determination and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Michelle started with Regis in February 2022, bringing with her more than 15 years of experience in the aged care sector. Over this time she transitioned through different roles from Food Service Assistant (FSA) to Personal Care Assistant (PCA) and finally found her niche in admissions.

For Michelle, International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women and acknowledge their profound impact on people’s lives.
This IWD Michelle emphasised the importance of recognising one’s unique talents and encourages women to embrace their individuality.

“No one is like you, so shine bright and share your talents,” Michelle said.

At Regis, Michelle has found a supportive environment that allows her to leverage her strengths to benefit the wider community.

She said her team is passionate about and committed to creating a collaborative and nurturing atmosphere.

“We are all reaching for the same goal to ensure our resident care and wellbeing is our main focus,” Michelle said. “We encourage each other. We support each other.

“They are a great bunch of people and they make our Home inviting and loving for our residents.”

Reflecting on her personal journey, Michelle draws inspiration from the women who have crossed her path including her mother, Silvana, whose resilience and determination have been a guiding light.

Michelle said her role as an Admissions Coordinator brings her so much joy.

“To sit with residents and even their families and to listen to their life’s journey is such an inspiration.

“It has taught me life is short yet so rewarding, to never give up. The generation before me has encouraged me to live life to the fullest.”
