Meet Kim Hahn, the General Manager at Regis Playford in South Australia. Kim started working in aged care 10 years ago, starting in hospitality and catering. Since then, she has undertaken numerous roles gaining experience across many aspects of aged care, including the roles of a Hospitality Team Leader, HR Administrator, People & Culture Manager and People, Culture & Customer Service Executive Manager.

When asked what attracted Kim to the sector, Kim emphasised “You cannot help but fall in love with the people and the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives every day”. Kim recalled “pretty much crawling home with exhaustion at the end of my first day in aged care, but feeling more satisfied and happier than I had in any other job”.

Although every day in aged care is a busy one, Kim believes this is because “you can always find more to do to help people”. Kim reiterates the team at Regis Playford have a genuine desire to provide the highest quality of care and services, demonstrating the Regis values of Optimism, Integrity, Respect and Passion in everything they do.

Kim believes aged care is the most rewarding industry to work in, and in her current role as General Manager has implemented change within Regis Playford that further empowers residents. She’s brought in new processes, such as residents interviewing new employees and developing a committee with management where they can convey improvements, allowing residents to take pride and ownership of their involvement. Kim says, “we joke with them about getting them added to Payroll!”.

Outside of work, Kim loves baking, going to concerts, and spending time with friends and family.
