Meet Tino, a dedicated and passionate chef who has found his calling in the aged care sector. He has been working with Regis since 2021 and is currently working as the Roving Chef Manager in Victoria. 

Tino’s journey in the aged care sector began in the UK, where he worked in hospitals and aged care residences. When he moved to Australia, he pursued a career in catering and hotels but soon realised that he wanted to use his skills and knowledge to help people who are in need of care. This led him to join Regis Aged Care, where he has been able to make a difference in the lives of the elderly. 

As a Roving Chef Manager, Tino’s typical day starts with briefing his team about their tasks and the menu of the day. He ensures that “all meals are delivered on time and are of the highest quality.” He spends time in the dining rooms, engaging with the residents and receiving their feedback about the food and service. 

When asked about what he likes about his role and his team at Regis, Tino replied, “As a Roving Chef, I love working in different residences and with different teams every day. It brings me a lot of happiness. I have been to most of the Regis homes in Victoria, and I felt welcomed everywhere. All the teams get along well with me.” 

Tino’s dedication and passion for working with the elderly are evident in his work. He sees the residents as people who have given so much to the community and believes that it is his “time to give them back a good quality life, good food, and care”. He takes pride in being able to provide the residents with the best possible dining experience and enjoys seeing them happy and satisfied.

You get to make a difference in the lives of the elderly and provide them with the care and attention they need. It takes patience, empathy, and dedication to work in this sector, but it’s worth it.”
