Newsroom

At Regis Sippy Downs, we are delighted to announce the completion of a significant upgrade to our Memory Support Unit (MSU). Understanding the profound impact that the environment can have on wellbeing, we have transformed the main garden area on the patio into a tranquil sensory haven for our residents and their families.

Revitalising the Garden

The garden area, which was previously underutilised, has undergone a remarkable transformation. Our team re-planted new plants and added fresh mulch, bringing new life and vibrancy to the space. The refreshed garden now serves as a welcoming and inviting retreat.

Creating a Tranquil Environment

To further enhance the serenity of the area, we introduced various bird species and installed a beautiful water feature as the centrepiece. This addition not only creates a visually appealing focal point but also contributes to the tranquil ambiance of the garden.

Engaging the Senses

Understanding the importance of sensory experiences in creating a relaxing environment, we installed Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling of the external patio. These speakers play soothing sounds of birds and running water, providing a calming auditory backdrop for those who visit the garden.

A New Favourite Spot

Since the completion of this upgrade, the garden area has become a favourite spot for many of our residents. They enjoy spending time on the patio, watching the birds and listening to relaxing music. The transformation has also attracted the attention of other residents within the Home, who have expressed interest in visiting and experiencing the new garden area.

Sippy Downs General Manager, Delano McCready, said: “This upgrade has not only revitalised an underutilised space but has also provided our residents with a serene and engaging environment. It is heartwarming to see how such changes can enhance the daily lives of our residents, offering them a place to relax and connect with nature.”

At Regis Sippy Downs, we are committed to creating environments that enrich the lives of our residents. This upgrade is a testament to our ongoing efforts to provide exceptional care and meaningful experiences. We invite families and visitors to come and enjoy the new sensory garden and witness firsthand the positive impact it has had on our community.
