A day out amongst nature is something all our residents enjoy. For residents at Regis Marleston, Regis Kingswood and Regis Burnside, the annual trip to Cleland Wildlife Park is something everyone looks forward to.

This year 60 residents and team members attended, making it one of the busiest events so far. The residents enjoyed lunch outdoors before heading to the education centre where a ranger introduced them to some of Australia’s most incredible animals. Then they got up close and personal with the likes of pythons, lizards, stick insects and much more. However, everyone agreed the ringtail possum was their favourite.

Residents then headed back outside to visit some iconic Australian animals including koalas, Tasmanian devils, rock wallabies and kangaroos. Everyone enjoyed patting the animals and learning more about their natural habitat and were particularly fascinated to find out about their different diets.

The memories the day brought back to so many of our residents was amazing as they reminisced and about how much they loved visiting the wildlife parks when they were young and when they visited with their children, also discussing how much conservation has changed over the years.

“Vicki, resident from Regis Kingswood, stated “I loved the day being around animals, it was a wonderful time spent with good company.”

Another resident from Regis Kingswood, Mark, said he enjoyed because he “got to meet and talk to different people.”

Dorothy from Regis Marleston shared “it was a magical day with lots to see and do.”

The residents all loved the day so much that they can’t wait for their next excursion.
