Meet Janneke, Office Coordinator at Regis Lutwyche.

In honour of Aged Care Employee Day, we’re recognising some of our incredible staff who provide care and support to our residents and clients. Thank you for being a part of our Regis family.

What attracted you to work in aged care?

Aged Care provides you with the opportunity to have a positive impact on your community and doing meaningful work rather than just performing day-to-day duties without the personal satisfaction of knowing what you are doing is making a difference in someone’s life.

Describe your role in one sentence

I provide support to various departments by completing administrative duties relating to both staff and resident matters.

What do you like about working at Regis?

At Regis Lutwyche, colleagues and residents become like family. Through Optimism, Passion, Integrity and Respect we ensure a positive work environment where individuals always feel appreciated and supported.

What advice do you have for people considering a career in aged care?

If you are considering a career in Aged Care, you will certainly not regret it. Your days will be filled with residents sharing amazing life experiences – these may vary from beautiful love stories of 70 years ago, to stories of war and times without mobile phones or computers.

But you will need to hold onto your heart, because sooner or later you love the Residents as if they are family.

How do our residents benefit from your role?

By ensuring our staff feel supported, appreciated and that all training deadlines are met, I can ensure Residents receive care from well informed, happy and passionate staff members.

Who or what motivates you personally?

I am motivated by the need to perform my duties in such a way that my team feels supported.
