Regis Care Partner Update: COVID-19 prevention and support

Regis’ highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of our residents, clients and employees.

The Council on the Aging recently released their new Industry Code for Visiting Residential Aged Care Homes During COVID-19 (PDF). Regis has reviewed the code to ensure our current visitation procedures meet the guidelines. We are constantly reviewing the situation and will make adjustments when it is considered safe and right to do so.

Tours at Regis

Regis is now in a position to offer modified tours of Regis Homes in line with our current Stringent Access Controls and the easing of restrictions in the broader community. Below are the principal guidelines for the tour process from today 14 May 2020:

  • The tour party can be no larger than 2 attendees and 1 Regis employee
  • The tour party must be guided at all times by the designated Regis employee and MUST maintain social distancing amongst their group and with staff/residents of the Home
  • No interaction with in-house residents is to take place
  • The tour party is to meet at reception and sign in using the family visitors sign in sheet
  • Tour party must complete COVID-19 wellbeing questions, temperature check and hand hygiene
  • Tour times are limited to 30 minutes in total
  • Tour path is to follow shortest distance between the reception area and display room with no lingering in communal areas that may be on the way
  • Any consultation required onsite is to take place in designated admissions office located near reception
  • Display room will be prepped and ready for tour party to limit the amount of contact with touchpoints (light switches, air conditioning remote etc)
  • Regis employee will wipe down all surfaces and touch points once tour is complete

To eliminate the need for additional time at the Home or unrequired visits, pre-qualification and virtual tour conversations will still take place prior to walk through tour.

Tours will be available 5 days a week Monday to Friday. One tour will be permitted at any given time. Saturday tours will only be approved by the relevant Regis Operations Manager based on circumstance.

Tour Times

Tours will run between:

  • 9.00am – 10.00am
  • 10.30am – 11.30am
  • 2.00pm – 3.00pm

Flu Vaccination

Visitors, including those completing a tour, must have an up to date flu vaccination to enter our homes as per the Government guidelines. We have strict protocols in place for those visitors who qualify for the limited medical exemptions.

COVIDSafe

We are strongly encouraging our employees and families to download the COVIDsafe app if they have yet to do so. This is a vital tool for keeping ourselves, and our loved ones, as safe as possible. You can download the app here:

We appreciate your support during this challenging time for the community.
